Bayern Munich will come up for the second leg of their Champions League knockout match against Besiktas this week. The Bavarians made little work of the Turkish side and defeated them 5-0 in the first leg.
They come up for the second leg hoping to secure an easy passage into the quarter-finals. Here is how they will look to line up against Besiktas.
With Manuel Neuer still far from making an appearance this year, Sven Ulreich will be expected to continue in goal for the German giants. The 29-year old kept a clean sheet last time around and will not be expected to have much trouble in goal this time either with Besiktas being their opponent.
Joshua Kimmich has been in prime form all season and the versatile young defender will be expected to operate as a right back one more time. David Alaba, who has been linked with a number of clubs recently, will be filed in at the left back position and can be expected to be involved more in attack rather than in defence.
The experienced Mats Hummels will be one of the two centre-backs and he could be partnered by Jerome Boateng for a match where both defenders will not be as worried as compared to other Champions League nights.
The three-man midfield system has worked well for Bayern Munich with Javi Martinez and Arturo Vidal expected to be the deeper lying midfielders. While Martinez will be expected to sit behind and shield the defence, Vidal will be expected to run from box to box once again….
