Alvaro Morata has admitted he made a mistake playing through the pain barrier earlier this season for Chelsea FC.
The Spanish striker has been settling in well to life at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the Blues from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window last year.
The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals and made five assists in the Premier League so far this season for the west London side and it looks as though he is adapting well to the rigours of the Premier League.
Morata has been missing in recent weeks due to a niggling back injury but he made his return to action when he came on as a substitute in Chelsea FC’s 3-0 win over West Brom on Monday night.
Now, the Spain international has admitted that he probably made a mistake in trying to play through the pain barrier earlier in the campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish outlet Movistar, Morata said: “Chelsea is a big club, a club that has given me the opportunity to play as a starter, to grow even more.
“It’s a team where I’m very happy, where I started well until I had some physical problems.
“I made a mistake in that respect as I played with pain [earlier this season].
“I went through a poor spell where I missed important goals but I wasn’t well physically and mentally.”
Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to FA Cup action on Friday night with a home clash against Hull…
