European champions, Real Madrid, have decided to make an approach for Manchester United 21-year-old forward Anthony Martial, according to Mirror reports.
Spanish giants have made a poor start of the season as the Los Blancos struggled to sit on top of the table in both La Liga and Champions League competitions.
French forward, meanwhile, has found form this campaign under Jose Mourinho, with scoring seven goals and making six assists in 19 appearances.
According to The Sun, Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has urged the club to make a £80m bid for Martial, who is a perfect alternative for Kylian Mbappe.
Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on Martial, and now they will face stiff competition to sign the Frenchman as Real Madrid emerge as a shock favourites.
The report goes on to suggest that French manager is especially keen on to bring more youth and speed to his squad as they are preparing for a life without their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who is set to become the 33-year-old within two months.
Martial has made 110 appearances for the Red Devils since his 2015 move from Monaco, scoring 32 times and registering 23 assists.
Liverpool and Arsenal could launch a stunning January move Borussia Dortmund centre-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to claims in Germany.
