Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not concerned about Alexandre Lacazette’s form in front of goal and is backing the striker to find form for Arsenal in the coming weeks.

The French forward came off the bench during Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday but failed to help the Gunners find an equaliser against their bitter local rivals.

Lacazette missed a brilliant chance to find the net late on but he dragged his shot wide as Arsenal slumped to a damaging defeat in the race for Champions League qualification.

The striker has immediately fallen down the pecking order at The Emirates following Arsenal’s signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund last month.

Lacazette has started both games since Aubameyang’s arrival at the club on the bench and he will be keen to prove to Wenger that he is worthy of a starting spot.

However, Gunners manager Wenger has insisted that he is not concerned about Lacazette’s recent dry spell in front of goal for the north London side.

Speaking at his post-match news conference at Wembley on Saturday, Wenger said: “He created two chances today. That is a quality as well.

“He will score goals. He is a goal-scorer, he scored goals in his whole career. He will score again.”
