Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has today criticized Ousmane Dembele for the attitude displayed by the youngster in pushing through his move to the Camp Nou during the summer, claiming that the winger should have adopted a similar approach to that of fellow countryman Kylian Mbappe, who made a groundbreaking move of his own to PSG.
Following months of speculation, Dembele finally completed his long-anticipated move to Barcelona in August for a club-record fee potentially rising to almost 150 million Euro.
20-year-old Dembele enjoyed a stellar season for Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion in 2016/17, cementing himself as one of world football’s most coveted young stars.
A return of 10 goals and a staggering 21 assists in his debut campaign left Europe’s top sides scrambling for the services of the wing wizard, with La Liga giants Barca having sought out the Frenchman to replace Neymar, following his move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, much was made of the behaviour displayed by Dembele in forcing his dream move through, with fans of former club Dortmund said to have been particularly unimpressed by the starlet’s refusal to train with the club.
