Chelsea face a battle to keep Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi long term with Borussia Dortmund prepared to try him on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old forward’s future at Chelsea remains up in the air.

Having been loaned out to Dortmund during the deadline day of the January transfer window has shown he has little faith in Belgian striker.

Even when available at Stamford Bridge, Batshuayi was rarely featured for the Blues.

And following a bright start at Borussia Dortmund, a return to defending Premier League may not happen for the next season.

According to the London Evening Standard, Dortmund have made an approach to sign Belgian star on permanent basis.

He has three goals in two starts for Dortmund in just two Bundesliga games replacing Arsenal new signing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Batshuayi since his £33m move from Marseille ha failed to secure a starting role under Antonio Conte and player himself might be keen on to remain at Dortmund.

German giants, though, failed to include an option to buy as part of their loan agreement with the Premier League reigning champions.

Speaking about the possibility of landing a permanent deal for Belgian forward, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “There is always a chance, although if he scores in every game, it will be difficult.”
