Patrick Roberts reckons Celtic can make more history and land an unprecedented Double Treble.
The winger and his team-mates are savouring the success of clinching the first silverware of the season having secured the Betfred Cup.
Sunday’s Hampden victory over Motherwell ensured one of the three trophies captured last term will be staying in the Parkhead cabinet.
At the moment the prize is housed alongside the Premiership trophy and Scottish Cup.
In Brendan Rodgers’s first season Celtic were able to collect the trio having embarked on an astonishing campaign which saw them sweep to the Treble without losing a single game.
Doing it once was magnificent. Now the opportunity is there for them to do it again and scale fresh heights.
No team in Scottish history has ever won Trebles back to back but the possibility is there for the manager and his players to do something special.
Roberts doesn’t want to get ahead of himself. Celtic have maintained a one-game-at-a-time mantra throughout the gaffer’s reign and eyes are fixed firmly on tomorrow’s league encounter against Motherwell.
But what he does admit is the squad is looking strong and there is a belief within the camp they can keep maintaining the high standards which have been set over the past 16 months.
