As per one of the latest reports by BBC, Celtic are perceived to be ready to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price to lure Odsonne Edouard permanently to the Celtic Park in the summer. Edouard is currently on loan from the ranks of the Ligue 1 giants but Brendan Rodgers seems to be interested to make him sign on the dotted line for a permanent move.

Odsonne emerged through the youth ranks of PSG and was shipped out on loan to Toulouse in the summer transfer window of 2016 before moving to Celtic last summer. He endured a stuttering start to his life in the Scottish football but his recent form has managed to convince the fans well as his side’s manager who is apparently reluctant to lose him.

The Bhoys haven’t been as convincing as they were last season under the stewardship of the former Liverpool boss but they are looking all set to lift the Scottish Premiership title at the end of the season. However, they need to make their presence felt in the Champions League next season and have to keep their domestic superiority intact and it goes without saying that Rodgers would need to bag quality players in the summer.

Rodgers has preferred to use Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Edouard to meet his striking needs this season but there is no denying that it would be extremely difficult for the Glasgow based outfit to keep Dembele in their books.
