Chelsea are considering a move for Premier League outfits Crystal Palace centre-forward Christian Benteke as Antonio Conte to sign a proven goalscorer to replace Michy Batshuayi, according to the Dailystar reports.
The former Liverpool forward is currently sidelined following a knee injury, however, the defending Premier League champions are still keen on in securing the services of the Belgian star to give Spaniard Alvaro Morata a huge back-up option.
The Eagles are believed to be keen on a deal to sell Belgian powerhouse in January as he is most likely the player who can be an ideal replacement for Batshuayi.
Palace have struggled thus far in the absence of Cristian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha and Roy Hodgson’s side are unlikely to sell him this summer.
The Belgian attacker has made a tough start to the 2017/18 campaign as did Palace, however, the Eagles head-coach Roy Hodgson will be hoping that after recovering from injury Benteke will return his form.
Former England national team head-coach is looking for a striker himself as Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako is the only option for him to strengthen the frontline.
The Belgian centre-forward is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2020 and he won’t come cheap for Chelsea if Antonio Conte decides to lure him at Stamford Bridge.
