CHELSEA manager Antonio Conte has rubbished rumours over possible January move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy.
Chelsea were linked with a move for England international striker as a possible replacement for Diego Costa who has left the club in the summer.
The 31-year-old forward has been in stunning form so far this campaign, found the net for 10 times, leading to speculation that Chelsea are keen to bring him in as competition for Alvaro Morata.
However, Antonio Conte claims that despite his admiration for the Leicester City Forward.
“No, honestly we didn’t speak about him,” he told reporters.
“But I repeat we are talking about a really good player.
“For sure Vardy is a really good player and I don’t like to speak about players of other teams, but in this case we are not talking about the transfer market.
“I appreciate a lot this player because he is a really good player, Vardy.
“He played for the national team and is scoring with regularity in this league and is a good player, but this different.
“I am talking about him because you ask me and not the transfer market.”
Chelsea currently sit third in the English top tier just one point behind from second-placed Man United and 16 from league leaders Manchester City.
