Didier Drogba believes Mohamed Salah is flourishing at Liverpool because of Jurgen Klopp’s faith in the summer signing.
The retired Ivory Coast international was team-mates with Salah for eight months at Chelsea FC in 2014 following his £11m move from Basel.
Salah struggled to break into the Chelsea FC team under Jose Mourinho in the second half of the west London side’s title-winning campaign in 2014-15.
The Egypt international completed a loan move to Fiorentina in August 2014 after he scored two goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea FC.
Salah returned to the Premier League last summer after he impressed during a two-season spell at AS Roma where he netted 34 times in 83 games.
The forward has improved again at Liverpool after his clinical finish in a 2-0 win at Southampton on Sunday took his tally to 22 goals in the Premier League campaign.
Former Chelsea FC striker Drogba believes Klopp’s faith in Salah has allowed the African forward flourish into one of England’s best players.
“He has always been a good player. We all knew he had it in him.“Maybe now he works with managers who are more willing to give him more responsibility,” Drogba told The Sun.
