Hundreds of players are set to have their ratings permanently changed
FIFA 18 players are bracing themselves for yet more FUT market instability as EA Sports prepares to kick off Ratings Refresh.
The period, which starts next week, will see hundreds of players have their FIFA 18 ratings permanently changed to reflect their real-life form.
EA Sports’s team of data collectors have been keeping an eye on some of the world’s biggest stars – and if they haven’t performed, they could well receive a downgrade.
Last year, these modified cards caused a panic in the market with gamers frantically opening packs to pack new, upgraded cards.
According to UltimateTeam.co.uk EA Sports probably won’t downgrade the cards that have already been released – rather they’ll discontinue those cards in packs, and release new, lower-rated versions.
This means the original cards will become more rare – and their price will go up – making a fantastic investment opportunity.
So, who’s at risk of a downgrade?
Cover star Cristiano Ronaldo, who was awarded his place in the FIFA 18 Team of the Year, is one player who could see his overall score lowered.
