Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers is moving on up in the world of mixed martial arts, having compiled a perfect 3-0 record since turning pro last year.
All three of Chalmers’ victories have come inside the first round, with two coming by way of knockout and one via submission.
The 30-year-old has competed exclusively under the BAMMA banner up to now but after his most recent win, a 43-second stoppage of Karl Donaldson in December, Chalmers issued a request to be signed by Bellator.
BAMMA and Bellator have co-promoted events before so the transition seemed logical for a prospect around whom there was plenty of hype and while Chalmers’ ambitious call-out of Kevin ‘Baby Slice’ Ferguson Jr. was denied, he will indeed get the opportunity to fight for Bellator in May.
‘The Joker’ will make his promotional debut on the Bellator 200 card in London on May 25, with confirmation coming on Wednesday morning that Chalmers had been matched up with Ash Griffiths for a catchweight contest.
It’s true!!!! Im fighting on the @BellatorMMA main card on May 25th
It’s still actually crazy!!! 12 months ago I announced my first fight
Now I’m fighting for Bellator 😬😬😬

The event will take place at the SSE Wembley Arena, where Chalmers will hope to continue proving his doubters wrong.
While his debut was initially written off as no more…
