Manchester United will return to action on Monday feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, after the warm-weather training camp in Dubai that yielded physical and mental advantages.

That is the view shared by Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw, who have both spoken exclusively to’s Adam Bostock ahead of the Premier League match against Stoke City at Old Trafford.

“I think the lads needed it,” Lingard explained. “It was a good mental break to clear your mind and to have a chilled time with the lads resting up. We worked hard in December and came through a lot of games so it’s always good to clear your mind. While saying that, we still worked hard out there. We were on the training pitch every day and going through the tactics for the game on Monday.”

Like Lingard, Shaw also believes the team has benefitted from a mid-season break in the sun.

“It was nice to spend time out there in different conditions and different environments,” Luke explains. “It was really good for the team and also good for the younger ones like Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe and Kieran O’Hara who came to get to know the team more.
