It is widely thought Ibrahimovic, who could start tonight’s game at in-form Watford, will move to Major League Soccer at the end of the campaign, with Los Angeles being touted as a possible destination.

United’s bosses, however, are of the belief the 36-year-old is still considering his options and could yet be persuaded to extend his stay at the Theatre of Dreams into a third year.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star is understood to have promised to keep Jose Mourinho updated on his future plans, so the United manager can also budget accordingly for the summer market.

Ibrahimovic has proved to be a major commercial success for the club who feel the outcome of the Premier League and Champions League this campaign may also influence his decision-making process.
