Everton’s season is in tatters right now and the Merseyside club hierarchy must be having a thorough review of their miserable performance throughout this season. Despite spending their heart out in the summer, Everton have failed to even kick off their campaign, despite interim manager David Unsworth’s patience with the team.
One of the many new recruits at Goodison Park was Henry Onkyekuru. The Nigerian international was bought for a decent £7m but was immediately sent on loan to Anderlecht. Since then he has had a joyride at the Belgian club as he already has racked up seven goals this season.
Everton might be forced to recall the player in January as they are in dire need of new faces and the 20 years old might help the club to overturn the fortunes. But he is also wanted by a number of clubs like Southampton, who are quite interested in signing him.
The youngster lit up the Belgian league as he struck 20 times last season and it was his goals scoring traits that brought him to the Merseyside. He was having some problems with his work permit, so the Toffees opted to loan him out following his arrival.
Southampton badly need some inspiration in the attacking third as the Saints failed to dominate teams in the opposition box. They have been defensively pretty good but lack of intent in the attack has been their main problem. The likes of Dusan Tadic and Sofiane Boufal have been inconsistent and the need of another attacker has been pretty evident.
