Jamie Carragher has warned Arsenal that they will definitely not be finishing in the top four in the Premier League this season.

The north London side are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the north London derby at Wembley on Saturday.

The Gunners are now eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC and they are facing a serious uphill struggle to try and break back into the top four this term.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season for the first time and had to settle for Europa League football this time around.

The Gunners’ best hope of securing qualification for next season’s Champions League is likely to be by winning the Europa League this season.

And former Liverpool FC star Carragher has told the Gunners to prioritise the Europa League this season because he feels that they definitely will not be finishing in the top four.

Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “They have to prioritise the Europa League because they won’t be getting in the top four.”

Arsenal are preparing to take on Ostersunds in the last 32 of the Europa League in Sweden on Thursday night.

The Gunners won the FA Cup last season after they missed out on a place in the top four.
