Sadio Mane broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when his shot crept under Jose Sa before Mohamed Salah displayed impressive composure to make it 2-0 before the half-time break in wet conditions.
The Senegal international doubled his tally with a close-range finish following Roberto Firmino’s shot before the Brazilian got a deserved goal to leave Liverpool FC in an incredible position ahead of the second leg.
Mane completed his first Champions League hat-trick to make it 5-0 and leave Porto with a near impossible task at Anfield in three weeks.
