Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty has hit out at David Tanner on Twitter after the former Sky Sports presenter accused him of being a regular troublemaker at Rangers.
The Northern Irishman wasn’t impressed when Tanner criticised him during an online debate with a Rangers supporter over Steven Naismith.
And he instantly jumped in to hit back at Tanner to deny the claims being made.
Tanner had been debating the return of Naismith to Ibrox with a fan who said he wouldn’t welcome him back and tweeted : “Do you really want me to answer that? I guarantee you won’t like it. Embarrassing. Lafferty is lauded and he was causing bother even before Green got his claws in the club. Stop. Go back. Re-examine Naismith.”
Tynecastle forward Lafferty, who spent four years at Rangers, wasn’t happy with the accusation and said: Causing bother with the club. Talk some s*** you do David. Jog on mate.”
Tanner replied: “Now, now! There was conflict, big man!”
That further incensed Lafferty who said: “One a bell always a bell.”
Lafferty left Rangers in 2012 after the club entered the third division of Scottish football.
He scored 38 goals in 138 games for the Ibrox side, winning three league titles.
