Liverpool FC have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign James Maddison from Norwich City, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that both of the Premier League clubs are set for a transfer battle to secure the signature of the 21-year-old this year.
The same report, however, says that Maddison is set to stay at Carrow Road this month, with a summer transfer away from Norwich City looking more likely.
The story says that both Liverpool FC and Tottenham are “huge” admirers of Maddison, who has scored six goals and made five assists in the Championship so far this season.
The same article says that Southampton are also interested in signing the highly-rated attacking midfielder in what could end up as a three-way transfer battle for his signature in the summer.
Liverpool FC have already been busy in the January transfer window after having secured a deal to sign defender Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
The Reds also finally agreed to let Philippe Coutinho leave Anfield and secure his dream move to Barcelona on Monday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they look to gain revenge for their 5-0 thrashing by the Citizens back in September.
