A thug battered a young mum outside a primary school ‘on behalf of her jailed armed robber ex-boyfriend’, a court heard.

Thomas Linsner, 25, left Laura McPartland with a cut to her head after spitting at her and punching her, in full view of her little boy, outside St Cleopas Primary School in Toxteth on the afternoon of October 11.

Career criminal Linsner was said to have approached the victim on behalf of her ex Dylan Hyams – who is serving a 10 year jail term for a spate of armed robberies.

Linsner, of Saltergate Road, Toxteth , admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and possession of cannabis at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded in custody.

David Evans, prosecuting, told the court Hyams had called Ms McPartland from prison and threatened her with violence, including acid attacks, after she ended their relationship.

He said: “She received threats that he would get his friends to cause her problems, and one friend of his is this defendant.

“The complainant was in fact outside of a primary school to pick up her child, when she saw the defendant pass in a white vehicle. The vehicle performed a U-Turn, heading back towards her.”

Mr Evans said the car stopped across Monro Street from Ms McPartland, who had her son with her at this point.

He told the court: “The defendant wound the window down and was smirking at her. She challenged him and said he was scaring her child.
