Jose Mourinho wants to hold talks with Manchester United forward Anthony Martial to fend off interest from Arsenal, according to reports.
The Sun, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the France international is attracting interest from their Premier League rivals Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Martial is unsure about his long-term future at Manchester United despite a promising season at the 20-time English champions so far this term.
According to the same story, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and League Cup finalists Arsenal are both monitoring Martial, who has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Manchester United have the option to extend Martial’s current deal by an additional year to give the 22-year-old more time to prove himself under Mourinho.
The former Lyon attacker struggled to make an impression during the Portuguese coach’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
However, Martial has netted nine times and has made four assists in 25 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Only summer signing Romelu Lukaku has netted more times than Martial in the current campaign.
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table and a mere two points clear of Liverpool FC.
