• United take part in International Champions Cup
• Club to play five games in the USA
Manchester United will play five games in the USA this summer including a highly anticipated clash against rivals Liverpool, as part of the club’s Tour 2018, presented by Aon.
United will take part in the hugely popular International Champions Cup tournament for a fifth consecutive year, with games against AC Milan and Real Madrid also part of the club’s visit to the USA.
Jose Mourinho’s side will begin the tournament in Los Angeles, facing Italian side AC Milan at the Rose Bowl stadium on Wednesday 25 July, kick-off 8.05pm (local time).
Days later, United will face Liverpool at the Big House in Michigan on Saturday 28 July, kick-off 5.05pm (local time) with United returning to the stadium where they set a record US soccer attendance of 109,318 against Real Madrid in 2014.
The trip Stateside then concludes with another mouth-watering clash against Real Madrid, at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami on Tuesday 31 July, kick-off 8.05pm (local time).
Speaking of the club’s summer plans, United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The facilities, venues and fixtures will give the manager and team the ideal preparation for the 2018/19 campaign, whilst also giving our fans in the US the chance to watch their team live.
