He turned to Asensio. His decision might just have staved off a trip to the job centre.

Asensio entered the pitch in the 79th minute.

Four minutes later he had set up Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 2-1 and nudge Madrid ahead.

Three minutes after that he assisted Marcelo to make it 3-1 and give Madrid some breathing room.
