Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the best team-mates he has ever had and is thrilled about linking up with him again at Arsenal.

The Gunners paid a club-record transfer fee to sign the 28-year-old Gabon striker from Borussia Dortmund last month as Arsene Wenger bolstered his attacking options at The Emirates.

The move to sign Aubameyang came just days after Mkhitaryan arrived at The Emirates as part of the deal for Alexis Sanchez to head to Manchester United.

The pair have already combined well in Arsenal colours, with Mkhitaryan setting up Aubameyang for his first Premier League goal for the Gunners in the 5-1 win over Everton earlier in the month.

And Mkhitaryan, 28, has admitted his delight at being able to link up with Aubameyang once again, this time at Arsenal.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Mkhitaryan said: “I think it could only be in a dream that we could join us in another club than Dortmund, but I’m very happy for that.

“I know him very well. He’s one of my best friends and the best teammates I’ve ever had. I’m very happy to have him here and I think all the fans are happy as well to see him in Arsenal shirt.

“What can I say? I love playing with him, I can understand him from one step, and hopefully that for the next games we’re going to achieve more.”

Aubameyang will not be available for Arsenal’s Europa League last…
