Jose Mourinho has called for the end of his feud with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The rivalry between former Chelsea coach Mourinho and current Blues boss Conte heated up last week after the latter took exception to Mourinho’s suggestion that he does not need to act like a “clown” during games to prove he is passionate – a comment perceived to be aimed at Conte and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Conte reacted by saying Mourinho had forgotten his own behaviour on the touchline in the past before using the Italian phrase “demenza senile” in relation to the Manchester United manager, which translates as senile dementia.

Hours later, Mourinho responded by blaming the media for the misunderstanding over his “clown” comments but then referenced the match-fixing scandal that Conte was caught up in during his time in Italy, but fully cleared by an Italian court from.
