Mohamed Salah has been the latest Liverpool star linked with a possible huge move to Spain.

The 23-goal winger will of course will be going nowhere for a while having just arrived at Anfield this summer in a £36.9m deal and on a long-term contract.

But it hasn’t stopped the suggestions that he will be a target for Real Madrid as they seek to counter Barcelona’s £142m raid of the Reds for Philippe Coutinho .

Salah himself travelled to Ghana last week where he lifted the African Player of the Year crown, with his team-mate Sadio Mane in second.

While there he addressed those rumours briefly as he spoke to South African outlet Soccer Laduma.

Salah said: “Well, I have heard so many rumours it does not bother me anymore.

“But I have been treated very well at Liverpool and right now, I belong to Liverpool and I am happy at Anfield.

“Let us leave it at that.”

The player himself also tweeted last night in Arabic, with part of the message reading ‘Erroneous news’.

Salah, 25, has also picked up his fourth Player of the Month award at Anfield for December, his fourth award out of a possible five in the fans vote.
