Samuel Eto’o has tipped Mohamed Salah to succeed Jordan Henderson as Liverpool FC captain.

The Egypt international has been a big hit at Anfield since his £39m move to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

Salah struggled during an eight-month spell at Chelsea FC in 2014 before a move to Italian football with Fiorentina and then Roma.

The 24-year-old scored in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win against Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday to take his tally to 22 goals in the Premier League this term.

Salah has also netted seven times in the Champions League and the FA Cup this term to leave the African forward on 29 for the 2017-18 campaign.

The Liverpool FC summer signing is one goal behind the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer Harry Kane in the race to finish with the division’s golden boot.

Henderson replaced Steven Gerrard as Reds skipper in 2015 but the versatile midfielder has missed a large portion of the season due to fitness problems.

Former Barcelona striker Eto’o believes Salah could be a future Liverpool FC captain given his ability to lead by example.

“He will not scream at you to do this or do that but people like him command respect,” Eto’o told The Sun.

“His attitude off the pitch also makes him a natural leader. He can grow into a captain there.”
