Naby Keita is reportedly on the verge of being unveiled as a Liverpool player, even though he is not due to sign until the summer.
The Reds had originally agreed to sign the midfielder at the end of the season for a figure that could eventually rise to £66million – depending on whether his club, RB Leipzig, qualify for the Champions League again.
However, following Philippe Coutinho’s switch to Barcelona, a report in the Daily Mirror claims that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is desperate to get the deal done this month instead and that the player could be paraded on Sunday.
Keita is also said to favour a sooner than expected move to Anfield, particularly after Leipzig were knocked out of Europe’s premier cup competition at the group stage – although he would be cup-tied for the remainder of the competition.
Any early arrival for Keita may mean that the Reds will have to pay a premium to get their man, although the report goes on to state that Liverpool will not try and force the move due to their good relationship with the Bundesliga outfit.

For their part Leipzig are insisting that nothing has altered, with head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl commenting: “The situation hasn’t changed.
