Thierry Henry lavished yet more praise on Roberto Firmino after the attacker’s fine performance for Liverpool FC against Southampton on Sunday.

The Brazilian forward has been in fine form for Liverpool FC so far this season and he continued his impressive displays by scoring one and setting up the other in the Reds’ 2-0 victory on the south coast.

Firmino has now scored 12 goals and made six assists in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this term.

He has also netted six times and made three assists in the Champions League for the Merseyside outfit.

And Arsenal legend Henry is clearly a keen admirer of the 26-year-old Brazil international following his sparkling form for the Reds so far this term.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Henry said: “He stood out [at Southampton] and not for the first time.

“The way he plays, the way he works, the assist that he made… just everything that he does. That’s why he always plays.”

On Firmino’s goal at St Mary’s, Henry added: “What a finish. That’s not an easy finish at all. The goalkeeper didn’t even move.”

Firmino will be expecting to start for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with the first leg of their last 16 clash against FC Porto in Portugal.
